Week 7 - Assignment #5
From the assessment results of the child whose reading and comprehension ability I was gauging, she was able to successfully read the words out in print overall, with the exception of a few reading stumbles she endured along the way. Her sound of speech was overall steady in the way she pronounced her words and sounded out the ones she had trouble pronouncing, all of which fell in conjunction with her phonemic awareness ability. Overall when it came to her performance level in phonics, it was good. She displayed a kind of verbal competency that considering being in the 3rd grade left her right on track with the rest of her peers. What I would recommend, would be a few phonics and phonemic awareness exercises that could be downloaded online and that would make her a better student at her craft.
