                                                       Week 4 - Assignment #1

From reading the article and viewing the videos regarding the Response To Intervention, my understanding of RTI is as a method made to help students overcome their disabilities and in the course of doing so, specific labels like Tiers 1-3 are slapped on them to describe their academic progress, which in hindsight can once again mess with their confidence level in school if patience and enough tact isn't used in getting these students to do well in school without feeling labelled. However after watching these videos and reading the articles provided, the main question that arises is what else can be done to ensure that students who require special education aren't made to feel inadequate as a result of their Tier (Tier 3 particularly)?
